Making Direct Mail Work Series Article #5: 5 Ways Government Agencies Save on Direct Mail with Click2Mail

From large federal agencies using Click2Mail for daily mailings to smaller local agencies using us to promote local events (and everywhere in between), many government agencies benefit from Click2Mail’s direct mail products and services at GSA-approved rates (we’re an approved General Services Administration (GSA) vendor).

A state community college uses Click2Mail to print and mail a series of colorful postcards to potential students and their families. 
The college uses the first postcard to describe its different courses. A second postcard is dedicated to applicant requirements, and a final postcard states where and when courses will be available.  With colorful images and compelling headlines, the postcards are an effective means of promoting the college’s educational offerings.

A large federal agency uses Click2Mail’s custom API to automatically print and mail a postcard to applicants notifying them that their application has been received.  With the Click2Mail API, the USPTO system automatically generates a postcard “order” complete with recipient’s name and address every time a patent application is filed.

A state health agency uses Click2Mail to prepare its Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) mailer announcing when (and where) the next free vaccination will be held.  The postcard-like format (with two sizes to choose from) gets the message out quickly and clearly.  And EDDM is mailed to every address on a postal carrier route, which allows the USPS to offer incredibly low postage rates.  It’s the most cost-effective option when your message is short and sweet and you want to mail to everyone in a certain area.

A local job training agency uses Click2Mail to print and mail a monthly flyer self-mailer Akin to a monthly newsletter, the flyer includes updates on where (and when) the next job training event will be held, what the topic of the event will be, and who will be presenting.  With a flyer, you have the opportunity to present your core message and offer additional relevant information (like a map of where job training centers are; which employers are currently hiring; and tips and tricks on acing an interview).

A local school district uses MailJack to print and mail parent-teacher conference reminders and other important parent communications (those pieces of paper that never seem to make it home in the backpack!).  With budget cutbacks, MailJack saves the district the money it would have spent having an administrator print notices, address envelopes, stuff envelopes, and take everything to the post office.  Now, the whole process is as easy as clicking “Print”!
