Summer is almost upon us, which means . . . road trip! As is the case with many in the auto industry, summer is always a busy time for Mark’s auto repair shop. Whether they’re getting their tire pressure checked or doing a full tune-up, many customers say they are preparing for an upcoming road trip. Mark wanted to let everyone in his area know about the shop’s “Road Trip Ready” summer specials so he designed an Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) 6.25” x 11” postcard, which he sent to every household in the carrier routes surrounding his shop. This was the first summer that Mark used direct mail to advertise his shop and he was pleasantly surprised by the increase in business.
While Mark is the bearer of great news, sometimes auto industry professionals have to bear bad news. John owns a tow truck company that uses Click2Mail to send Certified Mail® notices to people whose cars have been towed. For legal reasons, the company is required to send these notices via Certified Mail. John sees so many cars each week that sending Certified Mail himself would require him to hire a full time employee. He heard about Click2Mail a few years ago and hasn’t looked back since. He simply logs onto his account, tweaks his existing template to fit the new recipient(s), and we take care of the rest.
Large auto dealers and small independent dealers alike find great success using direct mail. Joann is the head of marketing at a large dealership. The dealership uses direct mail for many different reasons, but the most prominent is to advertise end-of-month deals, just-arrived new vehicles, and special events. The dealership needed to advertise their “Big Boom and Zoom” 4th of July sales event so Joann created a vibrant red, white, and blue jumbo postcard. She purchased a mailing list and sent the mailer to every household with an average income between $40,000 and $74,999. The sale went off with a bang (pun intended).
