Why Mail This Month? Why Mail in February?

Jan 31, 2013

February is the time to show people you care, whether that's with flowers, hearts, chocolate – or direct mail. This month, send a valentine to your best customers and prospects to let them know how much they matter to you, or how your product or service can help make their lives easier. When you take advantage of Click2Mail's cloud-based mailing solutions, creating an effective, professional mailing campaign is a piece of cake, whether you're mailing a few pieces or in a large volume.

Below, we've highlighted a few examples of how our customers have used Click2Mail's to connect with people in February.

Mardi Gras – February 12th, 2013. You don't have to live in New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras (or Fat Tuesday), a carnival celebration that kicks off Lent. Keep your mailer's focus on fun, celebration and revelry, and you're sure to capture a recipient's attention, just like Sofia did when she created a Mardi-Gras-themed mailer for her family's party supply business.

After the excitement of the holiday season, people tend to take a break from throwing big parties. Since this was the slow season for her business, Sofia wanted to make a big splash with a mailer reminding people to stop by and pick up supplies for their Mardi Gras celebrations. First, she designed an eye-catching 6 x 11 postcard highlighting her store's specials on everything from beads and masks to balloons and tableware. Then, she used Click2Mail's Mailing Online Pro API to seamlessly handle the process of mailing the postcard to her customer mailing list.

The response rate to Sofia's postcard was excellent, with several customers mentioning that it reminded them that the holiday was coming up. Even better, every step of the process, from design to delivery, was a breeze because Sofia relied on our easy-to-use cloud-based mailing solutions.

Valentine's Day – February 14th, 2013. Valentine's Day doesn't just have to be for your sweetheart. If you're a business owner, you can use the holiday as an excuse to show your appreciation to your most loyal customers. This can be an especially smart move if you neglected to reach out to your best clients around the holidays.

That's just what Arthur, who runs a janitorial service for small businesses, did. He used Click2Mail's Mailing Online Classic API to send “Thanks for Your Loyalty” letters to his customers. In his letters, he also reminded customers of some of the new services he'd added in the past year, particularly a “green cleaning” option. Setting up the mailing was simple because of Click2Mail's cloud-based solutions, and his customers appreciated that their loyalty was noticed. Plus, several recipients contacted Arthur to discuss upgrading their service package.

American Heart Month. This is a month-long observance designed to increase awareness of heart health. Fitness-related businesses can certainly take advantage of the opportunity to remind people to take care of their heart by exercising, and community groups or doctors might send a flyer mailer reminding people of steps they can take to avoid heart attack or a stroke. But they're not the only ones who can tie a mailing to American Heart Month. Consider Tim, the owner of a family-friendly casual restaurant who opted to use direct mail to let people know about all the heart-healthy options on his menu.

Tim designed an attractive 12 x 4.5 folded menu mailer, with a special section highlighting the restaurant's healthier options. He also included a coupon offering a special coupon inviting patrons to try a free healthy appetizer. Then, Tim used Every Door Direct Mail to send his menu to every address in the zip codes where he knew his customers were most likely to live.

Business at the restaurant increased over the course of the month, with many diners ordering off the “heart healthy” section of the menu. Tim gained some new regular customers and also expanded his healthy dining options in response to customer requests.
